Hi Folks
for those of us still in UK, it is the upcoming Autumn.
For those of you in Oz, it is spring.
For those of us in Uk, that emigrate very soon, it is a very strange time.
To all of you that you have succesfully managed to go all the way to the other way to the other side of the world and make it, then well done..
To all of you that you tried to go and came back to UK, well thats your problem, hope you enjoyed the riot.
I don't want to sound smug, but I am off to oz soon, and can't wait. And before I get all the negatvitiy, "yes I realise that this is not the land of milk and honey",
Good luck to everyone that tries it
(by the way, has anyone ever done a runner from the bank ?)

We will hopefully be following soon, hopefully our visa will be ready in a couple of weeks

They have forecast snow from October, but hopefully we won't have to deal with that for too long before we are thrust into the midst of an Australian Summer (with any luck

Absolutely, no snow here unless you look for it but summer here can bring storms, floods, droughts, bush fires and more.

Ah yes, 'The UK is shite and I read somewhere that Australia doesn't have any of the same problems'

There is something of a correlation between smugness and the crapper the Oz deal. I love the 'the UK has gone down the shitter, I'm off to Rockhampton (or random red neck town) for my 457 dependent $45,000 job.
Time from 'Immigration and Visa category' to 'Moving Back to the UK' give or take 6 months. Brilliant!

Wow, I had forgotten all about this thread, until I got this reply today after about 4 months. Brilliant reading through all the encouraging and considerate replies. I particularly enjoyed the smug numpties who sit by their machines all night and post instant smug snooty replies. I particularly enjoyed
“You’re annoying†- bingobob777.
The number of posts that bingabog makes is quite remarkable. I can feel a Noel Gallagher song coming on, “What a life†or is it “Get a lifeâ€
“With that attitude, you will be needing the luck. Your type usually fall flat on their face once reality hits.†- jad n rich. Brilliant. Just cause you did doesn’t mean I did, and far from it, I am so bloody smug and good at what I do i would never fall flat in my face, and landed 3 jobs in 3 months. Will I take the one in the CBD or the one 10 mins from home ? Gosh don’t know. By the way, you should buy a tv, surely this forum gets boring for you, it must do for others with all your shitty notes
“That's what I was thinking, to the OP you would have a lot of problem when you try to secure your rental over here when you don't have any reference from UK if you don't have job, then you wished you didn't move half around the world then†- chris and farideh. Thanks for this one Chris or was it fahita. Just to reassure you, that I was so bloody organised in arriving here, I had a printed financial profile of our situation ready to give to estate agents with cash at the ready. We were up against it, having to arrange it within 2 weeks. It was easy, but thanks for your advice. By the way, what kind of stupid name is fahita, is it from isle of man ?
“His caravans wheel deep in dogshit i bet†- deb68. Fantastic. Don’t you just love those people that put nice pictures of people as themselves when of course they are on an atkins diet, and look nothing like that.
It always appear to be the people who have naff all else to do that respond first. Those sad people that want to dish out advice, play god. I would use the word sanctimonious, but I am likely to be accused of being a troll (wow, that is such a scary and hurtful word) that I dare not use such large words.
Oh, and by the way, I landed in perth a few months ago, landed 3 job offers, got a great house and luvin it. Having listened to the proper advice over the past few years we always knew it was going to be hard and having prepared mentally for this it we have done it !!!. The turkey on xmas day was a bit rubbery, but not to worry, sitting out on the sun for a couple of hours, certainly helped. Sorry, never had my x-factor on so must have caught magnamalaio
Not done a runner from the bank.......yet. .....
Still annoying though
