I read somewhere that Asiana business class is cheaper than usual economy seats with major carriers???
I have seen a lot of good reviews about them too.

I'm guessing you paid this deposit to a travel agent and not the airline itself? They should have made you aware that the fare is not guaranteed until the booking is actually ticketed, and that doesn't happen until the ticket is paid for. Emirates did give warning that the fares were going to increase, so if you did book thru a TA they should have let you know.
They did but said it would only be a couple of hundred dollars maybe not $2000!
If i rebook different flights or airline through the same agent will the deposit still count, do you know?

Actually not the case. They are not any cheaper really. That and they only fly from Sydney and have terribad connections to London only.

Just a little mental note for anyone thinking of booking flights to the UK over the xmas period.
I booked flights for myself and my son and its cost me just under 4K for us, and thats dec 10th til jan 5th. I booked single flights, not return. Brisbane to manchester one way, then manchester to brisbane one way.
Saved $700 by doing it that way.
Apparently if you book a return, both flights are charged at the price of the one that takes place at the most expensive time. So for us, a return flight would have been charged at the mid december price. whereas now i have a flight at the december price and one at the january price.
Thats with etihad flying brisbane to manchester (not heathrow)
