Default Oh Dear ....

so quite a few posts start 'dear', 'hi dear', etc and we usually point out that it's not well received by people that you don't know. Some of them take this on board with a thank you, and some think you're picking on them - hey ho.

But, I have to admit that in real life I have a bad habit of calling everyone dear - there's a couple of hundred martians that could vouch for that.

So - do you use it, do you hate it, when is it acceptable.

Thanks Dears

Have to say I hate it. Unless it's from a little old' lady. But I hate it because my youngest brother calls me it and I don't get on with him. I find it condescending and patronising. Early on in our courtship, ROMFT used to call me it which set my teeth on edge, so I had to tell him to stop

Dear

I am looking to get aussi pr for me and my 4 wives. My 3rd wife does not want to come so I am thinking to leave her off my application. Does DIAC will check if my wife is married with me? I also have a kid but it's got leprosy so will not be adding the kid too. Does I need to let ACS know I got band 4.5, 7, 6, 7 for IELTS and about my kid with leorosy?

Why I have not got invitation to apply visa yet? I apply to ACS as mechanical engineer but need your advices to what occupation I should nominate for.

I want to live in Sydney because my cousin has house there but I have apply for state sponsor to Darwin. Can it mater if I go to Sydney on 489 visa? I mean will it cause problem?

Please share your timeline. Mine is
IELTS march 10
Apply ACS April 20
Submit EOI may 9
state sponsor NT May 10
I want to know should apply state sponcer before eoi?

Thank you dear

My OH uses "Dear" as a form of sarcasm.

I get called "Dahl" a lot by older, usually Jewish friends.
In the UK my Cornish friend used to say "My lover" which was a bit disturbing the first time she said it, but it is just a colloquialism, thankfully.
