I've had a low weekend waiting. What makes it worse is my visa should have taken about 4 weeks back in October and its really getting to me now. Can we arrange that Wimbledon meet please so I can drown my sorrows with people who don't just go, "you're not on about Oz AGAIN!!!" please?

Well done Doc btw.

That sounds awfully long. Do you have a CO or anything?

Its because the labour agreement which was in place was scrapped and agreeing a new one is taking ages. Few thousand others in my position from what I've been told, seems like red tape. I don't mind waiting per se but the longer it goes on, the more worried I g et that it won't actually happen!!! I'd like to stay until end of July so I;m hoping sod's law will come into effect and the visa will come through just ot piss me off some more.

well you will have to carry me into and out of the place of gathering as I hurt my back on friday... am well up for a few bevvies!

So my time for a little moan then...Although things have only started for me I am getting disheartened...my application still has not gone in apparantly... my new employers have done everything on their side, agents say they awaiting docs from me (which they not as I check my emails at 6am every morning to see if I have to take docs into work to scan etc etc), so now just sitting around...waiting for the agent to catch a wake up.

Apparantly its freezing cold in sydney with rubbish weather - that makes me happy in a sadistic way...

Anyone want to paint my back wall for me... (might as well milk the limp whilst its there!)

Might want to rephrase that if Doc's about, he'll assume you mean something else.

Fizz and Aqua, you up for a beer in Wimbledon? I've posted on the UK meet thread as well.

Hi guys and gals.

Received my pr visa grant today so looking to be off to sydney in june. Only me myself and I going, so no reason to delay too much.

Just wondering if anyone else is heading that way? Likely to be staying somewhere near a surfable beach - I know a few people out there, but be great to catch up for a drink and share some of the initial daunting aspects & the excitement.

Best of luck to you all.

Hoping to land up in Coogee myself when I forget not to look too far forward!

Cool. It's the looking forward that has kept me going!

Coogee is great. I'm thinking about manly but only because I lived in bondi junction for whv year so be nice to try the other side. But have a feeling when I go back (esp to bronte) I won't want to leave the eastern suburbs.

I'm hoping to end up in Thirroul - which is a stones throw from the most fabulous of all right handers "Sandon Point". See you out the back hun!

Re: The Official Loners Thread

well i'm still about folks! I've been busy with normal life stuff, reading through here sounds like most of you have too, but that visa are edging closer! Hope everyone is on track. I promise I'll be more social when we get to the other side!

I think I'm around 4-6 weeks from grant, if not less. At the moment I'm feeling inclined to find a job out there before i go, and I'm also dead excited about the summer coming - which is putting me off going over to the aussie winter *too* quickly. So I'm not feeling as desperate to go as I was. I think I'll be wise and try my damndest to get work, then go. But there will come a point when i can't wait.

of course, all of this is made much easier (& harder?) by the fact i've just started seeing someone. But she knows the score, so i think it'll work out fine. She may even be tempted to come with me! At the moment i'm not thinking about the future, and enjoying what i've got.

Congrats on the visa grant MTPockets! See you in The CBH soon!

Scuba Steve, mate you need to knock some heads together soon! It's shit being out of control isn't it! But i'm sure it'll come together.

Pony: I'll see u out back chick! We'll be needing a team van?

Doc: well done on the vetassess bro, nice conjugation of them there verbs!

everyone else: you're ****ing awesome! :)

much love from a loved up Dan x
