i just noticed steven gerrard got something off the queen today,mbe or something.is the queen on the funny fags..

funny old world aint it, he gets the life of a film star,top bird, all the dough he can spend ,nice motors and gets a medal for it off the queen..

then on the other side of the spectrum are people like policemen,firemen and angles on earth, nurses.
for anyone who has ever needed help in hospital and watched what they do for a living they should all get medals..

its a funny old world eh..

what really gets my goat is all the awards ceremonies they have each year - as if they don't have enough fame, fortune etc with out the constant back patting - look at us scenarios

I dont think any nurse would consider themselves an angel. We do the job because we love it. Well I do . There is that age old chestnut about fair pay etc. But it is hardly unlikely that the health service will go pear shaped because of strikes etc. I dont know 1 single nurse (or doctor) who would even consider it.

Nice to know we're apprecated though

Not everyone in the caring profession is an angel - ask Beveley Allet (sp), Harold Shipman and when I did a google search many more! :scared:

Bit harsh...what are going to do when you get ill? I can't judge people on a profession - its people. I've met lovely nurses and lazy ones (though not here yet).

I've met great teachers and bullies - here and back there.

And I've met business people who are both mean and generous.

All I'll say if I am attacked, I appreciate the police and medical staff who care for me.


If I'm trapped then the firebrigade are brilliant.

If my son struggles then teachers are great.

Awards are meaningless and the Royal Family even more so.
