My ex-wife started taking flying lessons about the time our divorce started and she got her license shortly before our divorce was final, later that same year.
Yesterday afternoon, she narrowly escaped injury in the aircraft she was
piloting when she was forced to make an emergency landing in Southern
Tennessee because of bad weather. Thank God our kids were with me at the
Beach House this weekend.
The NTSB issued a preliminary report, citing pilot error: Judy was flying a
single engine aircraft in IFR (instrument flight rating) conditions while only having obtained a VFR (visual flight rating) rating.
The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on
board. No one on the ground was injured.
Photographs below were taken at the scene show the extent of damage to her aircraft.
She was very lucky!

Totally off topic, if there was one in the first place. Tiddler has been tidying her room
and came out with a clothes label saying Matalan and we can't for the life of us remember if that was a shop or just a label name in a shop? I've only been gone 2 1/2 years, should I be worried? We've been trying to remember where it was, if it was a shop but I'm not googling, it would be too sad

If you're shopping there, take someone who is a member and has a Matalan card (I always take my sister
) - otherwise you have to join. Only costs a £1, just a pain if you have to do it when you reach the checkout!Definitely worth a visit. Their stuff wasn't too hot 5 years back, but a lot of it is now pretty good. I got some great work shirts there this time, plus nightshirts, and a couple of pairs of trousers. Reasonable quality, reasonable price

Large chain of shops as JG says, usually on estates that have Brantano etc as they are big warehouse stores.

OK, now I'm wondering where I was when I went there. I hate shopping, must have erased the visit from my memory bank
