new subaru forester

Heya,

We're looking to get a new car - has anyone bought a subaru forester recently and if so what kind of deal did you get? We want an xtl (www.subaru.com.au).

I can't help you on this model, but I had a Forester for 4 years from new, and when I get over, i'll be buying another one. Great cars, super reliable, and price is much better than the competition.

Because they are 4WD they can be heavy on fuel consumption, but otherwise, typical Subaru for reliability.

The top of the range Forester is also below 7 secs 0-60mph.

Cost about aus$50,000 when I enquired in Feb.

Hey thanks for the replies....

An imprezza would be nice but cant afford the insurance, for something that is likely to be nicked!

Gonna email the dealer just now and tell him what we want..... wish me luck!

For the price I would be more tempted to go for the bigger 3.0R Outback.

But you can't go far wrong whichever Subaru you drive..

Well deal is done - Bert is having his mid life crisis (so he says) and needs the turbo - I'm may have to lose 10kg, die my hair platinum blonde and get some botox, in order to meet the other 'mid life crises' requirements :o

Should have the car by end of the month - irish teen, I know where you can get a second hand Hyundai Santa Fe at about the same time - it's slightly cheaper than the Subaru too!
