Relief?... well sort of - it'll be nice to know that I'll have my evenings, weekends and public holidays to myself and can put an end to "pager-rage".

As far as my future eating habits go - yes theres a distinct possibility that my saturated fat intake may well reduce now, and I'm not sure I'll eat in our local 'All you can eat salad bar' restaurant any time soon! But I dare say I'll meet up with ex-colleagues from time to time and catch up for lunch at the local chicken based greasetrap.*

I do now have to face a much more dramatic commute and can say with a bit of sadness that I'll miss my 11 minute journey to work now I'm looking at somewhere between 30-50 minutes each way depending on time of day. But as they say every silver lining has to have a cloud of some sort...

The upside is that the extra funds earnt will go a long way to paying for my daughters school fees (now that we seem to have decided where she should go next year).

So we wont be better off financially from my new job - but it should mean we're in a better more settled, relaxed state as a family.
