Thanks Beoz. The 'rental guarantee' for our flat (furnished) for the first year is about 7,500 pounds per annum net (after management fees etc). But even if we're not ready to move over after completion, we won't be renting it out. It'll be Scouse and my first home that we've bought together and we want to be the first to live in it.
One thing I was pleasantly surprised about was the inclusions you get in a new build, far more than you typically get in Australia. As well as the usual cooktop, oven and rangehood, it includes a built in fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. Good brands too. Also includes all flooring coverings and a full internal paint. I think that's mega, wish it was the same in Oz!

Spouse you are going to love living there, it sounds great!
The shopping centre in Liverpool is something else, it has a fantastic vibe going on, great art galleries too if your into that kinda thing.
I'm feeling a bit homesick reading this thread...
