Re: The new Australia Day booze rules in WA
Given the huge number of British immigrants in Perth do you know if there is more of us and them thing between British and non British than there is in the rest of Australia? Just curious as I have often heard the odd comment on here from Perth members talking about British gangs and the like which I've never noticed in Brisbane? Have also seen clips of British sitting on the beach with many British flags and stuff like that... Is this common?
A child of a British friend told me that the majority of the kids in his class were British.

The clips they were talking about were probably done during xmas when a lot of people [many I suspect on holiday or recently arrived] go down to one of the beaches where TV-AM do a live broadcast back to the UK. I suspect those who now live here couldn't give a toss. Other than that I can't remember seeing Union Jacks or similar on a beach here.
As for British gangs, nope not heard of that one either - although I once saw two chavs at the Joondalup mall and fell about laughing at how stupied they looked in burberry caps etc. in the middle of a Perth summer.

My daughter goes to a school in the Northern Suburbs [year 3] and out of 20 or so in her class only 2 [including her] were born in the UK. When you add in New Zealand, South Africa and other countries then it jumps to about 6/7.

BTW, along with many Australians I have always strongly disliked that Aussie, Aussie, Aussie Oi, Oi, Oi chant....even more cringe worthy when heard next to a good British football chant Could some British immigrants mad about football put their heads together and come up with a new one for us all please

Personally thought that chant sounded dead classy at the Vatican city being chanted by the Australian religious Mackillop fanatics...
