That's the price now suck it up princess!!
Personally, I think they are mugs.
OK Sidcup, 2 years ago I might have agreed, but Aussies are wising up fast. Just look at the retail sector going down the guggler. It's been a while since you have been here right?

Perhaps this might be why Qantas pulled out of the Europe via Asia route. Everyone is now booking 2 leg flights or using IP blockers

There's nothing in Oz I pay over the odds for. I circumvent. If prices go down so will my salary and it defeats the purpose of earning the A dollar

That does seem to be the case. The problem is if the Government in their rush to grab more cash decide to close the loophole that enables people to buy from overseas up to $1000. I can see them 'fixing' that very soon.

I don't see it happening - a lot of pain for little financial gain.

What's the tax free threshold for overseas internet purchases in the UK? I can imagine that a lot of consumer electronics, computer parts etc are bought on the internet by poms, seeing as the UK is more expensive than the US, Asia, Australia for these kind of things.

Your choice, your money, even though many things are cheaper from outside the UK and easy to get.

What is the threshold btw? anyone?

Thanks for your very kind offer, sadly I will have to decline. Firstly I wouldn't lower myself to your level and secondly I wouldn't want the stigma of putting you in the position of being both unemployed and having to resort to crime to exist.

Just as well because imports are getting more expensive courtesy of the poor, buggered pound.
