i passed of course :thumbsup:

i`ve now paid the deposit on the contractors course and brought the first section home with me tonight
EA 103 introduction to law for an electrical contracting business
now dosnt that sound like super bedtime reading

Well done stevo:thumbsup: . Iv got it all to come. How did you find it all? Hard work getting the all brain matter going again or did it all come flooding back! Was it back to the old flemings left hand rule and all that or not as in depth???

electrical theory
which consisted of four questions with 10 marks each
1 on max demand for a domestic dwelling
1 on max demand for 12 units on a three phase supply
1 on Vd domestic dwelling
1 on maX lenght of cable for a permitted Vd
all working out to be shown

electrical regulations
24 questions witha yes or no answer and you had to write down the rugulation that applied

ie can a socket outlet be placed .5 meter over a source of water less than 45 litre
answer yes as comes under zone three then the corrisponding regulation


and electrical installation testing exam

12 questions on testing
how /why do we do insulation test
re-arrange in order the sequence of tests etc


followed by a practical exam

take off the pillar box remove cables insulation, earth continuaty, and polarity from pillar box to mains explaining as you proceed to the instructor who starts of by telling you he`s an apprentice and you have to explain to him what why etc

Oh i thought them days were over and now iv got it all to do again. Head back in the books when we get out there i guess! Anyway well done mate and keep up the good work on the house!

well done . that seems pretty straight forward. did they give you the completion statement there and then and how long from your initial inquirey to the tafe to actually sitting the test. there was a 5 month wait up in cairns so i went down a different route

i used a private company called queensland electrical training

the rto director went through my answers with me and marked it there and then
they then ran off the cert and filled in the relevant electrical saftey office application forms with me
his secertary will post them off on thursday and he recons i should have my licence by the middle of next week :thumbup:

Congratulations Steve, wow, a lot of work.. Big 'nice one' from Si.....

Just need a certificate in house reno work!!

The best thing to do with your writers cramp is to keep exercising the muscles. The best one is to get a can of something really cold and keep raising it to your mouth every minute.........:rofl:
