My UK experience

Took my wife of 20 years to Britain for the first time not long ago. I can't repeat what she she said here abouit England being a family type forum but if I ever mention going to that sh--t-ole again that's it. I got the message and I happen to agree. The U.K today, compared to what I remember a few decades back are totally unrelated. It was a shocking eye opener for me and I'm still trying to come to grips with it. We couldn't wait to come home and probably won't go back again. Biggest reality check I've ever had and I'm not young. Be very careful what your memories are because it changes rapidly and the repercussions are not good. Anyway off in the BMW to feed the amazing named horse we just purchased for daughter and cherishing the amazing life we have here. Thank g0d for Australia!!

This could have been a useful post in the right forum.... seriously because my wife also an Aussie has quite strong views about the UK. A lot of other people on the forum have Aussies as partners as well.

So how about posting in the Barbie with your wifes views and I'll put my wifes as well :)

Nothing at all to do with the subject in this thread of course, but I'd like to see your wifes views.

My wife has vomited so badly reading your response I've had to go get intravenous fluids. Thankfully it will never happen again.

Funny you should say that, because I came over with my Australian wife who has been out of Oz for around 10 years and she also said she didn't recognise Australia from what it was 10 years ago. What a shock!

Increase in crime
Huge increase in cost of living
Property prices through the roof
People not as friendly
More traffic
etc etc

Anyhows - go and have fun with your BMW and horse.........what's its 'amazing' name by the way? 'Materialistic Boy'?

I don't know - but I'm worried if I can't prove I looked after it I'll miss out on my 5 year long service horse!

If anyone's slightly confused, I moved the OP and subsequent posts from an Update thread in the Update Forum as the poster obviously didn't realise he was in the wrong place when he posted.

This would have more credibility if Mr Happy could explain why his wife was so appalled and shocked. Not a very interesting thread.
