My Sound of Music Moment Today
Drove up and over the Dandenongs today to visit a friend in Monbulk. Really great drive. On the way back, stopped at Woolrich Outlook, Olinda - fantastic views over to the Warburton Ranges.
If ever I were to feel down, that would be a spot to reflect and only 10 mins from us.

Just need to get a decent camera.
Trying not to sound like a hippy, but the forests really 'nourish me' - can't really explain it. One of my top criteria was to live near the beach, but as soon as I visited the hills, I knew this was home

Don't believe the hype! Not everywhere in Australia is a dust-bowl - many areas are every bit as verdant as Gloucestershire. Like where I live for instance, which has never been in drought and is basically rolling hills and pastures full of cattle.

Woolrich Outlook is a great spot, the usual BBQs and the kids love playing hide-and-seek amongst the pines or roly-poly down the grassed slope. There have been spring flowers out for the last few weeks too.

I did have a nice valley view from my UK house, but there's valleys and there's valleys - but for a Bristol suburb, it wasn't bad!
Of course, what I really need (to be fully nourished!) is forested mountains rising up from a turquoise ocean (research for retirement needed )

I can understand that. I have to get ocean fixes regularly - for me it's more 'peace' than 'nourishing' (God, I am a hippy ) Though, saying that, if the ocean is rough, it's more energizing... I'll stop now!
