How does one deal with the death of a beloved brother,my heart is so broken knowing at this time my other brothers are carrying him to his resting place and im not there.Sorry to share this shit but god i did not know it would be this difficult..

No real help to you but everyone there will know why you're not there and hold no blame or bad feeling. Nothing will make it feel any better but time and even that, not for a long time. Your brother knew you loved him, that means more than anything.

I remember only too well sitting in the UK, while someone I dearly loved was being laid to rest in Australia. And yes, it was hard, the pain was something I wouldn't wish on anyone, but at the same time I knew wherever Michael was he would understand why I was so far away. And as you say Pen, he always knew I loved him, that did mean more than anything, in life or in death.

Hard to find the right words to say but thinking of you

Nothing anyone can say will help, it is without a doubt the loneliest feeling ever, the most frustrating feeling ever and the burning need to be beside your family is stronger than anything, every mile away feels like 10 miles so no wonder you feel like your heart is breaking.

First of all your family would know that if you could be there then you would, noone would judge you for that.

You know you would be there if you could, but support comes in many forms and you just offer that in the only way that you can which is possible for you.

Can you do a video message to your family or perhaps write a letter? See if you can make a photo book dedicated to your brother, anything that you feel could contribute.

Its a lonely and painful time Bernie, a horrible journey to go through. Each day does get easier though, many of us have been through similar and you do get through it.

Don't be too hard on yourself please, you are entitled to grieve and should allow yourself that time.

Be there for your family however you can - it is the thought that counts and a thoughtful person is a supportive one.

You're other brothers and family may be there but i'm one of these sentimental types that think you're brothers spirit will probably be with you at some point, i'm sure he knows as they all do how much you care, distance at times like this will probably make it much harder on you than anyone.
I don't think it's a case of dealing with it, I think it's a case of trying to accept whats happened and give yourself time to come to terms with it and try and find some peace with yourself, your brother is now at peace and i'm sure he would want you to get through this in whatever way you can?
