I used to look a bit like him when I was younger. Drunk, shaved head, being bundled into a police car.

Perhaps we could balance this debate with the great violence free evening that I spent at Quinns Beach on Australia day. Loads of Brits and Ozzies (and maybe a few South Africans) drinking and having a good time watching the fireworks.

thats a sweeping generalisation but im sorry to say i agree with you ,i dont know whats going on up in the pomburbs these days ,there seems to always trouble .
I was in the Old Bailey the other afternoon waiting for a good friend of mine and i couldnt help but notice two men who where mid- forties .One scottish and one english and the english guy had his son with him and i would have guessed he was about 20 .
All these middle aged guys could talk about ''oh i dropped the nut on that tnuc'' ,'' i bashed the shite out of him'' .They were doing verbal jousting to see who was the hardest idiot in the place .
All this was being said infront of a young impressionable man of 20 who really wants to be like Dad .
I was thinking thank God i dont live up in this hole where everybody is shaggin everyones missus and there kids do nothing but fight with one while dad is there sucking up to the hardest guy in the pub because its cool to do so .Well thats the way it seems to me anyways.
I am one of those who has never settled here and want to return but if joondalup and its poms are any indication od briitish way of life these days ,i am going to have to reconsider and if poms where involved at mullaloo all i can say is SHAME ON THEM .

Hate to turn this into a Perth Vs Brisbane debate - but...............a large part of our decision to come to Bris as opposed to Perth, was based upon our observations of British migrant behaviour in Perth! If we wanted to be part of it, we would have stayed in the UK and hung around at our local sink hole estate at weekends! This just doesn't happen in Brisbane nor any of it's outer suburbs - methinks, Perth lures these people as they like to hang around with like minded eejits!!!

Should be bloody ashamed of themselves- scrotes!!!

So what did you witness personally in Perth that made you think this and how many suburbs in Brisbane have you been to? Just trying to see what you are basing your opinions on of course. You can't tell me that there aren't idiots that drink in the Pig & Whistle or any other UK style pub around Australia. You haven't seen it therefore it doesn't happen.

I agree though whatever nationality these folk are proven to be they should be ashamed of themselves.

In Perth, there was an underlying 'tension' whenever Brits were present (generalising I know but that's the feeling we had). Being a particularly good judge of character (even though I say so myself), I identified the majority of these Brits as people that I didn't want to be associated with - call me a snob if you like, but I had quite a good upbringing and know the difference between right and wrong. Lots of these people looked as if they didn't!

As for Brisbane's burbs - been to most, if not all of them in our short time here - we get around a bit! Not yet felt intimidated in any way - not even in the Pig & Whistle on a raucous Saturday night! Perth was different - I certainly didn't feel comfortable on more than one occasion!

Now, if we were talking about the Gold Coast, that is a different story all together!

Hey, this is just MY opinion remember!

Absolutely your opinion which you are entitled to of course. I have been in Perth almost 3 years and have never felt like that so I just wondered where on earth you had been and who on earth you had mixed with to give you that impression.
