Have you reinstalleed a firewall application ?
If so, you may have to retrain it to allow Messenger ports to get through.
What is your firewall, and when you say "since i renewed it", what do you mean exactly ?
You need to make sure your firewall is NOT blocking C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe

Go to http://webmessenger.msn.com/
Click 'Start MSN Web Messenger', and then try to sign in.
If you can sign in, there is no problem with the service or your account. It is most def your firewall blocking the inbound connection on your pc.

My AVG ran out, so i bought new subscription for 12 months. It contains everything, anti-virus, firewall, anti-spam and spyware etc...

Experienced users can configure the firewall manually (to set up actions for individual communicating applications).
But you can also use the Automatic Configuration Wizard. This wizard will check your computer and recommend default settings.
It is automatically configured to provide optimum protection for your computer.
Configuration and the Automatic Configuration Wizard are both available in the context menu by right-clicking on the AVG Firewall component located in the AVG Control Center.
Remember, it is C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe that you need to allow in the configuration.
Go for it.
