Apparently the "correct" way to turn here is with a U turn - I don't think I've ever been with The Bloke when he's done a three point, and he stared at me blankly when I mentioned them once. He will drive miles out of his way to find a junction where he can do a wide U turn, or even better a set pf traffic lights and a break in the central reservation where he can loop round on 2 wheels - he hasn't yet realised that it makes me feel carsick, as well as unsafe! :eek:

Thankyou I'm off for choccy hit and a bit more swearing I'm glad to hear that something is being done about him, but by rights they should get another person to take a second look at your test results and just wave you through with a pass. When I took my test ('way back in the 90s!) I was required to execute a perfect 3 point turn; anything less would have resulted in immediate failure! And that was in Tasmania, of all places! :scared: Never in my life have I heard anyone claiming that 3 point turns are "inappropriate for Australia"; that's a load of cobblers! :confused: :rolleyes: You really should indicate when driving around a corner in a car park though, because they're a high risk area and you should be giving everyone advance warning of your movements. So sorry to hear that you had a rough time; I took half a dozen tries to get my licence (most of them with the driving tester from hell) so I know how stressful it can be! :o BTW, the girl who passed probably had tits like balloons and very little to cover them. :rolleyes: |

In fact, U-turns are actually illegal under certain conditions (even on some dual carriageways.) 3-pointers are the standard procedure, and they will appear in a driving test. I've got my driving test booked next Tuesday :scared: and I've been taught a 3 point turn by my Aussie instructor so it sounds like you just got a fool of a man doing your test :mad: (glad he's not in Sydney) |

K |

Can I also add that I work for a government agency. When i applied for this job I had to do a driving test even though I already had a full Australian licence. My job involves driving various different government owned vehicles and this test is compulsory prior to employment. During my test i was specifically ASKED to do a 3 point turn.
