We flew with our little boy when he was 4 months and adapted really well. I think i was the one that worried more. Just plan ahead and be prepared. It is good you have family and friends to help out when you arrive as they can get in the basics for you.

They are very resiliant and I am sure you will be fine. Think of it this way....the smaller they are they fit into the bassinet, don't want round and round and round and round the aircraft.....are likely to sleep most of the flight so I say easier the smaller they are!

Step away from Gina....don't understand how anyone can read a book by someone who has never had children!

Good luck with your plans!

Well I am sorry if you think that correcting the misinformation you are giving out is seen as a personal attack. For the record I am not suggesting that formula will kill any child (providing it is correctly prepared of course) and I am not a member of the Breast Police. What I am saying is that, if flying with a very young infant, the best advice I can give is to breastfeed as it will make everything else much easier. Gina Ford techniques and occasional bottle feeding will make a good supply of breastmilk more difficult.

I am saying this from experience, not some idealistic viewpoint.

But just because my advice differs from your does not make mine misinformation.

Let's just agree to disagree.

I can provide facts to back mine up - can you? Please start with the air pressure on an aeroplane causing a woman's breastmilk to subside. I would love to see the research into that little gem of wisdom.

ETA this website is a really excellent source of information on some of the common breastfeeding myths http://www.bestforbabes.org/breastfeeding-booby-traps/. It is really worth a read for anyone planning on breastfeeding.
