The way I'm feeling right now is, if I could swap my suburban Brisbane existence for a cottage with chickens and a garden in the SE English countryside - I'd be there in a flash.
So long as all is going to plan, we're going to have a look see early next year. Once I've had the look see I reserve the right to confirm my thoughts or change my mind.

Genuine question.... What happens to the Chooks when this happens ?
Hmmm stagnation... One of our blokes at Apost has been with them for 51 years now..... His super would have to be well into the 7 figures. Doesn't want to retire, seems very happy. Is he Stagnant ?

Been here 7 years and love it, but I also love the UK and slot right back in to my former happy life when I go back. I miss both when I'm away I'm an in betweenie I think.
Or I'm just happy living anywhere !

I don't think being prepared to move across the world is necessarily a sign of not stagnating. I moved to Brisbane aged 26...now that should be the dictionary definition of stagnating! That's 4 years of my life I'll never get back.
I would really like a stint (no idea how long) living back in London...mostly inertia prevents anything being done about that. I'm pretty ambivalent on the whole subject.

Actually, they get cold. At times like this, one must ensure said chickens have a secure, dry and well insulated shelter. If all else fails, invite chickens into house.

There's chickens somewhere near where we are - can hear them sometimes. One of the guy's I used to work with kept chickens - he used to bring in fresh eggs to share
