Hi a couple of questions:

1. Does anyone know of cheap motels in aus? I can't seem to find any!

2. Has anyone booked motels via wotif.com? Are the bonafide?

We've used wotif plenty of times for hotels/apts in NZ and Oz and never had any problems at all.

Australia's a big place... are you looking to stay anywhere in particular? If you're after a chain of budget motels, then you could use http://budgetmotelchain.com.au/ . We've stayed in a few around the country.

I've booked hotels with wotif.com both in Australia and in the UK and have always found them to be very good. They did double-book us once in the UK but sorted out an alternative hotel very quickly (before the actual stay) and called to apologise, so I'm quite impressed.

Yup use Wotif almost as a matter of course these days. Only problem can be if you need to cancel - we needed to cancel one time and we lost our money. Wasnt a big deal but it was irritating nevertheless. For longer term but short holiday lets we also look at Stayz.com.au as they have some nice furnished houses.
