It's probably me, yes, it's me.

You'll have to excuse this post because I have had a few glasses of wine, it's Friday night and I have had THE most awful lunchtime. (lunch was at dinnertime, it's now almost 11pm so the wine has been consumed because a) it is11pm and because b) It's Friday oh and because c) I had a dreadful lunchtime experience.

I had lunch with friends of a friend. I was really looking forward to meeting new people and expanding my fairly non-existant social life. Within the 1st nano-second I knew it wasn't going to be. From discussions about force-fed vegetables producing more allergens (or something like that) to Karaoke nights to joining the local amateur dramatics society I quickly switched off and went into wine mode.

I'm sitting here thinking how I met my bestest friends and what attracted us to each other and all I can think of is a)a similar sense of humour and b) a love of good wine and c)the same taste in men ;). It probably sounds very shallow but each to their own.

Will I ever meet the most fabulous people ever again :lol:

I have found it really difficult to make friends here, i've met loads of peeps , some i really liked but couldnt have liked me, coz i never heard from them again:o, which was confusing coz i thought we were getting on fine! (infact one even blocked me on facebook!!)

I also think my age is a problem (46), not many of us pensioners around.

Anyway after 3 years i have one good friend from Edinburgh, another couple i regard as family, and about 2-3 ozzie girls from work (infact we're heading for tassie in july for a girlie weekend), but i still feel pretty lonely here, i feel i still havent met enough like minded folks!
