I feel like that about the supermarket scenario - how you going? Good thanks... Good thanks just doesnt sit naturally with me. So I say Im fine thanks as thats the closest I can get.

I just say good thanks how are you and they either look at me stupid like what have you just said or decide to have a long conversation with you.

I'm a g'day girl. Somehow it just sort of pops out so easily.

As for the "how are you today?" (not that they ever want to know) I always say "absolutely fantastic!" which usually throws them off balance. Actually it has definitely improved the way I feel too - fake it 'til you make it!
