Must admit not a great fan of tampons/tampax as used to see them on beaches all over in UK bit like plastic bags not made to be biodegradable... :( . |

ok,..... I'll fess up too - I'm also a mooncup user!
With a bit of a dodgy reaction to all the chemicals in tampons, and with evily heavy periods I thought I was destined for a life of either looking like some kind of internal hemorrhage patient, or being cursed with having to use a tampon and suffering allergic reations - which at 24 is no way to spend the next couple of decades!!!! I purchased a mooncup and it arrive a week before I was due. stupidly I didn't have the foresight to practice a couple of times before it came along so I just had to get in there (pardon the pun!) and get on with it! first couple of attempts at getting it in weren't too successful - but I kept at and by the time I reached my third emptying it was no bother at all - no pain or nuffin'!! getting it out was a constant hassle right up until almost the last time. the technique I seemed to manage to get a hang off was also the reverse pelvic floor thingy, coupled with squeezing the end (not the stalk bit) and it seems to come out with very little problem. removing it is a bit sore, but i suspect that's just my technique and my body not being used to it. it's certainly 100 times better than the current alternatives! I've kept mine in overnight, and for a full day and there were no problems and no leakage |

ozziedoc (or anyone else come to think of it) ... are they easy to use if you have a pronounced anteverted uterus?? mine is quite odd ... id hate to buy one then not be able to use it cos i couldnt get it in the right place!

Can u use a mooncup if your uterus is "pointing backwards" instead of "forwards" or is pointing "more forwards than usual"? This is a relevant questions, cos the position of your uterus affects the position of your cervix - they are different in different women. The answer is likely to be yes, because the mooncup is held in place by the positions of everyones' ligaments and pelvic bones....Im not explaining that very well. I think that if I were you, I'd still try it. And anyway, they offer a money-back guarantee! |

If she'd just asked, I would have told her that it was my origami uterus, and not a mass the size of a tennis ball in there :D The sonographer chuckled when i told her ... confirmed it and duly reported to the poor doctor her findings. there was an audible sigh at the other end of the phone. :D kath - its pronounced phonically - g (as in goal) :D ;) |
