Normally I'm fine and don't miss any, but recently have had a hankering for pork sausages (had some from the local butcher but they weren't nice) and smoked bacon. Curries I tend to try to make myself.

99% of bacon in Queensland is smoked (vile stuff!)

Pork pies are awfully expensive here - we're going to have a crack at making our own soon as it isn't too difficult according to the recipe we have.

Really?, I tend to get it from celibate at woollies it definatley doesn't taste smoked

Where are you living in Australia? People might be able to give you some pointers on where to get stuff.

I miss the smoked mackerel with the black peppers on it. Yum. Very healthy too.

They do, in some coles branches now. only been there for about the last 8-9 months though, and as I said the majority of bacon in Queensland is smoked, to varying extents. Trust me, I've bought most of it and tried it and it wasn't till the middle of last year that Coles came up trumps. I actually found it in adelaide first, Coles here got it soon after.

Coles have some decent sausages now too Pork with apple and cider, cumberland, and a couple of others. Can't remember the name of the range offhand but they are a gourmet-type thing.

A S&M sandwich ... but that's it.

but have found that snapper is nicer/better than barrimundi from the chippy.

i'll have to look in coles for smoked bacon, cumberland sausges would be nice.might have to try making my own.
