'Fountain' brand do a 'Thick mint sauce' which is better than the regular mint suace you can buy here but we get rellies to bring over Colmans mint sauce when they visit.
Really depends what you like, rather than a brit VS aus debate - for me, aus mint sauce is too 'thin' and I like the thicker Colmans brand I am used to.
And no, it's not worth going back to the Uk for!!!

I am married to the world's greatest expert on mint sauce
I am assured by both him and his heirs that Fountain Thick is good. Fountain normal is excellent. I myself refuse to put any mint product on anything other than Lamb. I am an outcast in my own family. And if I ever suggest putting the mint sauce on BEFORE the gravy, well put it this way, I take my life in my hands

Yes it is a bit thin isn't it. I mix in mint jelly, thickens it up a bit and you can't taste it

I guess it's just personal choice, I find I prefer the more vinegary stuff to the sweet. We to get rellies to bring over Coleman's, a couple of jars last us for over a year, I'm still using some that our good mate down in Brissie brought us back in Feb
Mint sauce is the only thing we ask for, it's the only thing we really miss, everything else in the Aus V U.K debate is cool.
As you say it's not worth the trip home just for a bit of mint sauce, I'd go for new potatoes though

I find the Aussie brands a lot sweeter than Colemans. I loathe the mint jelly with a passion, it's like spreading jam on your lamb

Couple of jars might be heading up to Gympie shortly, I understand the feral locals are quite fond of it

I have tried the fountain stuff, but it was just a bit too sweet for me personally, an I agree with Sean, the jelly doesn't isn't quite right
