Shame really, he was a real showman on stage.

Shame? The only thing that is a shame where Gary Glitter is concerned is that he wasn't hung drawn and quartered!

I was stating that it was a shame that he wont be doing a tour not a shame for what he is. I totally agree with you on the hung drawn and quartered bit.

Many thousands of people have been entertained by the Gary and the Glitter Band over the years. I for one went to see him everytime he came to Bournemouth. Outstanding entertainer but Piece of Shite in the real world.

Agree with you there Barney, I went to see him at the Barrowlands in Glasgow in 1985, There was every type of person there from the grannies to the lowlife glue sniffers. He put on a great show got the whole crowd going.
But he deserves all he gets from now on

Having had the misfortune to see him 'perform' at Wham, The Final, I am extremely grateful his personal life got in the way of his performing life. It's not often you see Wembley Stadium full to heaving one minute and nearly deserted the next. He was worse than crap. No idea what he was like in the 70s though. The idea that some of my ticket money ended up in his pocket sickens me.

Wouldn't mind seeing Rod Stewart though although there's something about seeing 60 year old guys prancing around on stage that unsettles me I'm trying to convince OH to come to the local enormous RSL to see Don McClean on Monday though but I think he'll be sitting through his performance
