Melbourne-what do you love about your suburb?
Hello
Would love to hear from expats living in Melbourne as we're hoping to move over there in 2010 sometime.
What do you love about your suburb and why would you recommend it?
I'm starting to do my research but I really don't know where to start which is why I've posted this topic, hope to get some good advice from those in the know!
cheers

On the beach, and you get a sunset into the sea which is magical.
Nice restaurants and cafes, many with sea views.
30 min drive to CBD
Family area
Good mix of housing and its affordable
The pier
The creek, sort of like a cornish fishing village with all the little boats.
Good community
Great high street - always see someone I know when I'm shopping there.
Surrounded by other great areas eg Parkdale and Mentone, Aspendale with its white sand beach, Braeside Park.

Small town used to be a village which was even nicer then.
On the Mornington Peninsula
Surrounded by green belt
Can walk to everything
Has a pub
Has a train service
Has good restaurants
Friendly place to live
Posh bits and not so posh bits cross section like that
Easy to get to the beach on Port Phillip and Westernport

St Kilda 3182
20 mins walk / 5 mins cycle to St Kilda Beach
20 mins walk to the middle of Chapel St (restaurants, shops, bars)
Great places to eat close by
Good local pubs
Regular, reliable, quick transport - It's a 15 minute tram ride to work
Lots of 'interesting' people
It's not in Brisbane!
