Default MediaHint going paid

Looks like Mediahint is going 'paid for' service - only references to a 7 day trial now. So those that use it for iPlayer will be out of luck shortly.

It's getting to be a pain to not pay for a SmartDNS or VPN service.

I wonder if there's a business opportunity through paid advertising here.

It seems to be a common progression - free SmartDNS service begets paid SmartDNS service once the user database is big enough.

Looking at this as a replacement :

£1.50 for a year, 150GB of VPN bandwidth seems a v. good bet - provided you aren't watching hours of BBC iPlayer every night. More complex to set up of course, but more flexible.
