First holiday in a shitting long time (seven years by my reckoning). Flying up to Cairns tomorrow to stay with kid brother for a week. He has plenty of cool stuff booked for us (he's the regional manager for scuba diving bods PADI) on the reef and around the town, so it should be a cracker. Bring it on.

Have a great time, Hutch.
I really need a holiday; I'm off sick today, which is almost unheard of for me but there's been a bug going round work and I can tell I'm on the verge of an asthma attack (I only get them every five years or so, when my dodgy immune system gives up).
We're off to the UK in a couple of weeks but that's far from relaxing
and the last time I was away was the trip during the volcano fiasco, when I got one of "those" calls. Came home, packed up, moved house, and now totally shagged out

Have a brilliant time. We need a holiday badly but health, money, school and work won't allow it so never mind. Have a ball, nice temps up there.

Flights are so expensive, wish we could afford it - just get away for a bit.

Thanks all. Cases are packed - lunch time flight to BrisVegas, brief layover and then up the coast.

Is South Straddie developed now? I was there in 1980 and only handful of people had houses on the island - my uncle on fo them. It was fab, no electric or anything just gas lighting. Weird. A great place.
Shame if they've developed it but I bet they have.
