Dont get so touchy was a simple question.

Been good to hear the responses, and certainly a few lucky one around.

Why is it luck?? My husband works bloody hard to earn enough so that we can have the family life we came here for. I don't see why it makes our family lucky and me a lazy slob because we can afford it. Does it make you a slacker and a crap provider or your wife a crap mother because you both work. Don't make such ridiculous generalisations.

No it wasn't, mate, it was yet another pop at people you deem to have had an easier ride than yourself. Bitter, much?

Wind your necks in, and stop being so sensitive.

Is just as subject as a family we talk about, as we would like to have the opportunity to go to one wage, but wonder how others afford to do it, and what sacrifices are made to allow this.

Obviously a touchy subject amongst a few, apologies.

Its not that the subject is touchy, its the wording that you use. As in previous posts you are using offensive and insulting terms.
Cut it out.

I would say most people can afford to do it by hard work, dedication and striving to better yourself. In the UK I became mortgage free by working my ass off. We had a really good standard of living, the mrs worked part-time within the business and shopped full-time. Doesn't make either of us lucky, just dedicated hard-workers. I came to Australia for a more balanced life, not to get rich

We are a one income family, after many years of much hard work to get to this position.

There are a few occasions each year, that people who haven't worked as hard but want what I have, say, often without thinking, that I must have been very lucky !!
It is quite a put down to be told that all our hard work and chosen sacrifies for the future, is just LUCK !!

But I try to ignore comments like that these days, as these people obviously do not really understand.
