Default Is it me?

Or does nobody have a life on here? You all preach on about wanting to be in Australia then spend vast amounts of time on this forum site. I am not slagging anyone one off as I am falling into the trap.

Yes this site does have it's benefits for people who are considering/migrating/just landed but surely there is life after BE? I am sorry I am going in to 'flatspin' (TopGun)!!!

yes people do have a life...even after emigrating...wherever you live, you still have the same old day to day stuff...except when you're in Australia...generally your bucket's a bit shinier

I find this site extremely interesting ..I enjoy my time on here...but I've lived a great life in Oz having lived here for 35 years ...and now have a bit of time on my hands to read interesting topics on here. Especially seeing how much more difficult it is for people to emigrate compared to all those years ago

If no-one posted after emigrating here, then how much info do you think you would get?

The "after emigration" posts are my favourite ones on here now. Having got skills assessment, visa etc all sorted quite some time ago now , I love reading people's posts "from the other side". Really glad that people don't just stop posting on here once they've boarded that plane.

I am loving this site for all the different viewpoints and people alone, not mentioning the fantastic advice and information you can get from it!
I must admit I could be doing the housework right now but stuff it...I am so anxious about waiting for my visa I cant get on with real life at the moment, sad but true...

During the emigration process you get a hunger in your belly for information.
The more you read, the more you want, the more you read.

BE soon becomes your font of all knowledge. You do become addicted.
It starts to supercede other interests you had like watching tv for example. Your old list of internet favourites now plays second fiddle to the new breed......the Australian list.

Before you realise it you start to make friends.
Before you realise it you start to climb with the positive posters.
Before you realise it you take the trudge of descent with the negative posters.
You will be pleasantly surprised and you will be horrified.
Somewhere at the end you will surface.
Hopefully still sane. Hopefully forewarned and forearmed.

Before you know it you are taking the big step to your adventure. What you hope will be your new future of health and plenty.
BE and it's posters will have helped you reach that stage. In a better state of preparation than you could otherwise have achieved.

Even us old farts who are already in Aus may have contributed a bit.

The hand of BE is willing to feed all.

Well, exactly. My pet peeve was people posting on here saying:

"We've just arrived and we're are not posting anymore because we are having to much fun!!!!"

Uhhh , I think I was the only one to tell them to f*/% off and have their fun then. Don't bother helping out others, and thanks for your gratitude.

Alot of us use it for community. Mrs JTL has met alot of friends on here. And I just come on for a laugh from time to time. By mistake I may post something useful, or a rant about QLD driving or something.

Are you drunk again? You are waxing way too lyrical for a sober person.

I would say that I have a life here but if it wasn't for people (you all know who you are) on here I wouldn't have coped as well as I have. I thought I was sooooo prepared but when we came out I found the emotional rollercoaster way more than I could handle. If peeps who were in Oz didn't post then I would have felt very alone.

Go BE and post till yir hearts content!

Cheers
