Sure all will be good, house is now up for rent but still nothing, it seems like the market is flooded at the moment and people coming on now seem to have lowered prices. Missus doesnt want to drop our price as she thinks it looks desperate, so caught between a rock and a hard place. We already dropped by 35K after it was on for 2 months. Hopefully someone will rent it from us, fingers crossed. It sounds like both you guys ahve settled well, Ast I know you have, what about you Gina? Re: Lost the Desire To Go
We came out last May after only having 7 weeks to get our act together and move over to start a new job. No time to put the house on the market and so we decided to rent it out which only took about 5 weeks to fill.
Looking at the current situation this looks like the right decision as interest rates are going up here and dropping slightly in the UK so our mortgage has got slightly cheaper. Also the current exchange rate is sh*te and Perth house prices are flat right now so not really worth buying. We'd rather wait another 12 months, maybe try a few different areas to live in and then considering selling/buying over here. The good thing is we've now got over 8 months experience of living in Perth and loving it. We've got another baby due in April and we'd probably have held off having another if we were still in the UK waiting to sell up. Get the house rented out and get over here- you'll love it and I could even help you find work in the HVAC industry. |

Hi All
Dont know why it is but I feel like I am losing the desire to make the big move. I know everyone will say it will all be worth it in the end but we are struggling now we cant sell the house and working just to make ends meet, therefore no money for flights etc. I guess its because of the above, but am just wondering if it is worth the bother now that it has taken so long to get here. Had the visa since last June and validated a year ago. Its supposed to be exciting but at the moment it seems like a chore. Has anybody else just lost the urge or is it just me. Cheers Mick we are new to this thread, were are in exactly the boat, we have our visa's, and our jobs are sorted, but weve been on the market since last may, we have had 3 sales fall through! and do start wondering if someone's trying to tell you something, we are trying to stay positive though and it's really helped reading this thread. we too are looking at selling to a property investor as we have lost most of savings now in the house, aslong as they cover the mortage we will cut our loses and go to start our new life in brisbane. good luck to all sarah and martin |

Leave it next time, the person will turn up, love it and want it on the spot. Sod's Law. |
Re: Lost the Desire To Go
Are you able to change your estate agent/letting agent? Ours was on the market for ages with not alot of interest, then we took it off for a month (Watch your HIP Pack) and put it on with a new EA. Less money, they marketed it as a new property and we sold it in a week.
We were feeling very despondent with the old EA. They just weren't very pro-active, trouble is, once you sign they have got you, whether they are any good or not. Get a few around to give you a price in the current market, maybe that will help your wife change her mind, we decided to drop ours and make a clean break. We can hang out for more, but we have decided we just want to get on with it, be it with less money. Unless you really do want to rent it out, of course. Good Luck Jo. |

Stop doing it. A house needs to look like a family home and that includes stuff being left out. It's definitely not worth the stress you suffer when the viewer doesn't appear.

Mick Re: Property for sale ** **** ** *** ****** We have recently put a contract on this home, with a 72 hr clause within the contract because there is another contract sitting on the sale. It would appear that the solicitors for either the seller, or the other buyer, are intimating this is a 3 day clause. However from information we have received, via our solicitors, we are still informed this is a 72 hr clause. We have asked, John ******** to look into this and confirm the actual contractural term. My wife also spoke with John, on Thursday 14th Feb, and asked for him to arrange a further viewing at a suitable time over the weekend , to fit in with his open house schedule. ________________________________ Saturday 16th Feb. My wife has just called John, and met with a very surreal and quite rude barrage. The mention of her being aggresive was said repeatedly by John. I was present during the phone call, as also was Mr Brian ****, and Bevan ******. Business associates of ours. I can categorically state my wife was not indeed agressive towards John, I have witnesses that will confirm this. I then took the phone off my wife, as she was then getting emotionally upset. I spoke with John, and iterated that perhaps, we should meet face to face, or he could confirm in writing his excact issues with relation to my wifes apparent aggresiveness. I am not happy, and I am willing to concede without being patronising, that John may be under some pressure and or getting the wrong end of the stick. We hold John in very high esteem, well upto todays incident. However, if no apology or satisfactory mediatory explanation is indeed forthcoming, I shall report this accordingly, ( via LINK ) ________________________________ I do so hope that John does not have any issues with us, that would prejudice his professional position, and the trust placed in him by buyers and sellers alike.
