The long goodbye.....

Not to put too fine a point on it, some time ago someone on here posted photos of his packed belongings, in response to my claim that he was all mouth and trousers, and would not move to the UK.
In the ensuing time I have flown 68,000 miles, lived/resided/suffered in 11 countries, and I am back in Oz.
Said poster is still here, still telling the world that he is on his way to the UK.
I will be off in three weeks time on another posting, and it looks like after that I will be way for quite some time. My guess is that when I return around 2015 the Eternal Exiter will still be in Oz, still posting about how crap it is, and still telling anyone who listens that he is on his way next week.
Such is life.

Where you off to this time?
Part of me envies your regular travels but on the other side I wouldn't want to be away from home as much as you are either

Interesting country to visit... though sinking I've heard.

No, I worked there in 2010, nice place.... I was living at Discovery in Ortegas, just across the road. A walk to Decades at Pasig.
I doubt they will have me back....
Im looking at a World Bank gig somewhere else at the moment. I was looking at Afghanistan but the little woman finally drew a line in the sand.

Despite the hype, the problem is not climate change, but crumbling coral. They drilled a bore hole in 1904 and went down 390m without hitting rock. Coral weighs 15.76 kilogram per square meter per 1 centimeter of depth, and has very little strength. At 390m there is over 600 tones per square meter, and it collapses. I have photos of holes that appear overnight as bits give way.
Nice place though, but basic.

I was working on a project there for 3 months. It really is interesting - a sinking atoll.
