The London 2012 Olympic Thread
Well ladies and gents the games will shortly begin so i thought a specific thread could be useful for all things Olympics.
I personally am a massive fan of the games and am fortunate to be heading over and spending a couple of days attending and being in the country during the duration. Event i am most looking forward too would be the triathlon where GB could possibly have a trifecta and sweep all the medals. The Brownlee brothers are just incredible athletes and would be fitting after the last few years results if they could win gold and silver in London. The host nation usually has a strong showing so GB could be possibly be in for it's highest medal count ever. The games should always be about more than just nationalist pride and jingoism and i love watching any sports and see any countries doing well especially if an underdog wins against the odds. Let the games begin  |

Before the 2012 Games begin, let's have a look at past great Olympic moments.

In the spirit of sporting rivalry I hope the Australians (including the conveniently ignored imported 'new Australians') fall flat on their arses and their colonial masters give them a good kicking.
Just like the cricket. That's my Olympic commentary, bring it on :) |
Re: The London 2012 Olympic Thread
enjoying it already immensely.
Traffic queues went past my door most of last week, and we live bloody miles away from any where Olympic related...but the Zil lanes are having the desired effect of causing rush hour London traffic to grind to a standstill. Roll on mid August. |

The Aussies may have to eat their words now that dead cert for a gold Sally has been beaten by a yank in the hurdles. Sally stormed off in a huff afterwards.
