Over $15 a kilo in Woolies (lemons = $3 per kilo). I harvested my first tomato today but expect a bumper crop soon. How many limes to the tomato? Anyone with a lime tree wanna barter?

I was heard to exclaim very loudly in Woolies when I saw the price of limes on Sunday. We have just been to Thailand for a week and had a huge bag in the fridge. I started to tell my husband we should have brought them back then realised where we live!

Aren't Limes and Lemons communal trees?
don't you need more than one to get the pollination going for fruit?
I had a Lemon and a Lime tree at the last house and they were non producers until I got them some mates. then it was all on for young and old, I couldnt make the Gin and tonics quick enough

We had dozens of Tahitian limes, from a 5 year old tree, this year and they keep for months in a poly bag in the fridge. A few fruit appear during the year so never really run out. There are 1000s of baby limes for next year.
It doesn't need a cross-pollinator.
