Re: Last say
I came here to live the dream and I really need a holiday.
This Sunday is Mother's Day in the UK and it's my dad's 71st birthday on Tues. My OH's family haven't contacted us since July. (They go through spells of not talking for years and he doesn't bother that they are distancing themselves). I should be more homesick than anyone. I still would be happy to settle here if we were all giving it a go. |

You must be beside yourself. |

Sometimes I feel like that and sometimes I think that I should not have any control on my children's lives. They are adults now and have to make their own mistakes to learn from them.
I just wish my husband was still the love of my life he was in the UK. I don't want to be the strong one any more. I want him to help me. I have become the moaning wife I always said I wouldn't be. I just want the sunshine to be in my life and not just outside. |

I wish I could say something constructive :( |
Re: Last say
Right I'm okay.
Knew I shouldn't have drunk these 3 glasses of wine and done that English course at uni (It makes you write things you shouldn't.) Now on a positive note: The wine will make me sleep and I bet tomorrow the sun will be shining. Oh did I tell you- there was a gorgeous sunrise here this morning? See nice things happen :D |

Re: Last say
Can't have time off at the moment.
Sh!t - forgot to mention. I got a new job in January. Training Officer at a company delivering apprenticeships for electricians. They didn't pay me my first 10 days. Then they sorted out my wages and started paying me $1.60 an hour less than what I was getting for temping a crappy clerical job at the council. I went from a 10 minute drive to work - to a 45 minute drive to work (and all the extra fuel etc) and was clearing less money a week. I thought I'd stick with it as at least it was back into the industry I loved. (I worked with apprentices in Uk). I was employed to teach Health and Safety and deliver induction courses. After a couple of weeks they wanted me to teach electrical theory. I told them even at the interview I had no electrical knowledge. They still insisted I teach extensive electrical theory. I handed in my notice after a month. I know my limits and I can't teach something I have no knowledge of. I'm now back temping a crappy clerical job at the council, but it's local and the money is good. (They were delighted to have me back). I'm being shown how to put paper in the photocopier by a girl young enough to be my daughter. Another of my duties is to refill the coffee, sugar and tea jars in the morning. Tomorrow she is going to show me how to do an induction for a new member of staff and I may even be ready to deliver one all by myself in a few weeks. (It's no use telling her I've been delivering and writing the material for them for years). I'm frustrated as she can't even spell and she speaks to me like I'm a geriatric. She spells council with an e on the end..... Can't afford time off though as don't get paid for time off when temping. Well next Monday is a holiday and Friday is my day off - so at least next week is a short week. :D |

Re: Last say
I've done worse - Went into McDonalds in UK and saw our friend. Crept up behind him and tickled his @ss. He turned around - you've guessed it - It was a complete stranger. Worst bit was, he looked at me like I had sexually assaulted him. (Well I did really, but that's not important.)
Thanks for listening girls. Must go to bed now though as I start work at 7am and I'm up at 5.15am. I hate mornings unless they have a beautiful sunrise. Sweet dreams everyone. Last say ...... or Twirly? |
