Default Koala's to become extinct!

I saw on the news last night (UK) that apparently koala's are to become extinct within 30 years due to climate change.Surely that can't be accurate?Did anyone else here about this?I love koala's and it would be awful if this happened. There's no way with wildlife sanctuary's ect this would happen is there?

Well as a species they have managed Australia's changing climate for a long time - and what we are going through now is within the range of normal climactic change so I suspect this is another AGW beat up. I can imagine that the Vic bushfires didnt do much for them but there is plenty of bush still left which would have the specific trees that they eat.

Personally I think it's their own fault for being so tasty!

Less to do with climate change and more to do with Chlamydia I think. It would be very sad, we have quite a few around here and actually had one walking along the pavement alongside a busy road last night.

LOL yes, and they dont move too fast so it is easy to take a pot shot at them (just joking!)

They also have absolutely no road sense - we saw one amble across the Hume quite recently and that it got to the other side without being skittled was a minor miracle
