It was always going to end in tears, I mean Joe Kinnear WTF. The team were doomed from January. Michael Owen wont be hanging round to play in the championship. he should play another season for free. Good news for clubs in the championship though. The Toons massive support will swell the balances of smaller clubs.

It was like seeing a train crash in motion from the moment Shearer was appointed.
Who will the Geordies blame next? Maybe another Keegan comeback or Ginola?

He had loads of opportunity's to take over there, I like the way he waited until he could only save hem and if he didn't it wouldn't be his fault they were already as good as down, the cowardly worm.

What's the difference between the EPL and my back garden?
My back garden still has magpies in it.

It's quite amazing the make ups of some of the lower leagues right now when you consider that these teams were in the Premiership not too long ago
Championship
Leicester
Derby
Notts Forest
Sheffield Utd
Ipswich
QPR
Sheffield Wed
Reading
Watford
Palace
Coventry
Barnsley
League 1
Norwich
Charlton
Southampton
Leeds
MK Dons
Swindon
League 2
Bradford
That's an incredible number of teams whose fortunes have changed very dramatically!

I was just reading that 40% 0f the teams that have gone down have never returned to the Premiership.. I can see Newcastle doing a Leeds Utd and collapsing even further down.

I can't, Newcastle would have some of the most loyal supporters, unlike the Leeds Utd scum that just jumped on the success bandwagon
