JUST WANTED TO SAY HI
First time on this forum, have been on the Immigration one for 9 longgggggg months but finally got the visa this week. Still in shock but grinning from ear to ear
Just wondered if anyone could recommend a holiday rental in the Port Kennedy/Mandurah/Rockingham area. Have been checking out various sites but any personal recommendations would be great

Welcome to the Barbie. We emigrated from Forfar to Brisbane last year - best thing we ever did.
Cheers

Re: JUST WANTED TO SAY HI
I gave you a coverage of my early years here up to the time I got married...what more do you want? <grin>
OK! My wedding was very special.
As I have said, my husband to be was in the RAAF - our wedding was planned for March and all was arranged....caterer, church and everything.
He came home at Christmas and said all leave had been cancelled because a Royal Visit was arranged for that time in March.
He did offer that he could get an extra week's compassionate leave and we could be married at once.
Problem! we had paid the last part of the mortgage and none of us had any money. The three months between Christmas and March was a time for mum and dad to pay us back for our hard work by giving us the kind of wedding every girl dreams about.
We decided to elope....but a friend became suspicious when I
cancelled' the bridesmaid's dresses and she insisted on us telling mum and dad.
The wonderful friends we had made during that time and who in many cases were struggling themselves got together and eace offered to give us a piece of the Wedding Breakfast instead of a wedding present.
We were married at the Registry Office at 11.00am in the morning, but because everybody wanted to be there the Breakfast was postponed until late afternoon. We were sent off to have lunch and then report back home when all would be ready. Most of those people are now deceased, but I think of them often and with great affection. They were true friends.
