I used to post on this site frequently but what i have noticed is some of the replies to certain posts are very insensitive and very disrescpectful to certain members. Your opinions are greatly apreciated.

It is an opinionated forum with characters who are sometimes very articulate and informed, and then again, not always! hehe!..And some threads are not for the thin-skinned.. but all in all most users are great.. you get the odd arsehole, but isn't that just life?
If it was all nice and civilised, I'll be honest, I'd probably not bother coming on as much... I enjoy the banter too much..

I've seen small children with more maturity than some of the posters on here.

Oh, you want no other person to have an opinion that may not sit well with you ? That the other 6.7 billion individuals on earth should subscribe to your views ?
I wonder if you were the type that ran to mum when called a name on the street while playing with friends, or were you even allowed to play with friends on the street at all ?
No offense meant, but everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you do not like someones opinion, you can stop reading the thread, place the member on ignore, or if you believe there has been a violation to BE rules, you can report the offensive post.
Did you want a needle to pop the bubble ?

An opinion is fine when you acknowledge that there may be others out there. I think what Deb takes exception to, are the posters who read an opinion and then feel the need to ram their own opinion ad infinitum as though theirs is the only correct one, then get personal if someone suggests that it might just be another opinion......

You are questioning the OP on the very same view/grounds you are suggesting/opposing. Why should they subscribe to your opinion? Is it superior?

So, since the thread was a question, I simply answered. Nothing ironic in that is there. As for my opinion being "superior".... It's my opinion, not superior but I'm not about to take my ball & bat home if you say you don't like what I say, because I really don't give a crap, & like another poster said "you have to have thick skin", overly sensitive people should find a more protective forum if they can't handle others opinions....

On the contrary, the thread title begs the question "Is it just me". recognising that there are billions on this earth, each with their own individuality & opinion. Idon't believe for a second that any 2 opinions are ever fully identical, life would be one big boring place surely ?

Strangely I don't remember seeing reported posts from you. If you find a post which is against site rules report it. Otherwise how will anyone know? Moderators are not able to read every single post here - we do have jobs, families, lives outside of BE.

I can't speak for everyone but I can choose to read or not read things that offend me. You can also ignore posters if you know they irritate you. Also, I can stand up for myself if needed so I can't say any of those things bother me.
If you see someone being disrespectful to someone else you can do the following:
a) ignore it and move on
b) make a comment regarding how disrespectful they are being and explain why
c) report it to the mods if it's against site rules
Personally if I take issue with someone I will say so. I don't mind a bit of a debate though
