July Holidays
#1
Hi everyone
We have been here 2 years and I have been waiting patiently on my best friend telling me she wants to come out, finally her hubby and her have decided they would like to come out this year but ......... they want to come in July..... We are in Perth and I personally dont think it is a very good time to come out.... The reason obviously is because her daughter will be off school on her summer holidays...
Help .... I really dont want to put her off coming over in July as I am unsure if she would get another opportunity to come over... I miss her like crazy and if they are coming I want them to really enjoy themselves while they are here but they have 2 kids and I suppose I am thinking if they came in a warmer month then we can do all the beachy stuff...
We are not taking a trip back to Northern Ireland until 2012 so I really would love to see her before that...
Has anyone had any visitors in Perth in July and if so was it a good holiday for them... We are building a house at the min which wont be ready till Oct time and our rental only has air con no reverse cycle so obviously the house will be cold in July.
Advise and thought welcome....

It's great that your friend can come out to visit you, but I can understand your concerns about the weather. Have you told your friend that it is winter here then and might rain a lot (if we're lucky
). Also that the rain can be extremely heavy, making it impossible for any outdoor activity? As an alternative, you could always head north and take the opportunity to visit somewhere from Exmouth to Broome. Might be tricky getting accommodation, as even camp sites can be booked up the year before. If you do south you're probably more likely to see rain than in Perth, but it can be nice visiting a vineyard restaurant for lunch in winter, and the chocolate factory in Margare River or the Swan Valley is always a hit with kids.

It'll be cold for you but not for them, it'll be roughly the same as a normal UK summer, they just may need a fleece or something. Won't it?

Perth has some great winter days, if it's a clear, dry spell, it can get down to zero, but up to low twenties during the day. If a front moves in, it can be several days of very heavy rain, but the daytime temp would rarely drop below low teens. Visitors would probably get a mix of dry and wet spells and you would just have to plan activities around the 5-day forecast.
