I view such reports with mixed feelings. I worked in IT during the last DotCom boom, and continued in one way or another until quite recently.
Booms like this attract the wrong sort of people. Con men, charlatans, liars and cowboys. Fake degrees, bullshit artists, get rich quick merchants and idiots who cant spell IT swamped the workforce, and it took a long time to get them out.

I do think too many people rely on job sites though, and most vacancies never make it to them, so worth a mention to keep your eye on what's happening around you.

Not at all.... Most of the idiots I met in the IT industry had London accents...
Closely followed by south africans. One boss claimed an accounting degree, a marketing degree and an MBA. He didnt have any of them....
