Sleep or toughen the f**k up. As a contractor in London, I would often do the weekend in New York Stunt - fly out Friday lunchtime, arrive back on Monday morning at 7am, straight to work for a 9 hour day - 180 squid return.

Lovely Jubbly me old mucker.

I'm one of those lucky ones who doesn't get jet lagged. I can fly back to Canada and slot right into the time zone there. Same for when I get back here.

I don't suffer from jet lag badly but we always try to have a stopover usually in Singapore for a week which makes it easier, we will certainly be doing the same this time.

It all depends upon your lifestyle.

Jetlag = feels like sh1t, insomnia, tiredness, irritability...

Me on an average day = feels like sh1t, insomnia, tiredness, irritability...

Also it can suddenly appear. I'd never suffered jet lag until my last flight back here four years ago. Felt like I'd been hit by a train. Mind you, I had had a migraine on the flight so my whole system was thrown out of sync anyway.

I get awful jet lag. Get off the plane and within half a day start to feel like I've just got off a boat, with the ground moving under my feet. Feel like crap for up to a week, exhaustion and the like.

Agree, try to stay awake at least until dark... and do as little as possible until you feel better.

I have a cure that has never failed.

First, as someone has already suggested try and stay awake until the time at which you intend to make your Bedtime from there on. Make sure you completely empty your bladder so you won't be woken in the night and potentially break your sleep. Also, try not to use toothpaste, as the mintiness often acts as a stimulant. Now here is the important bit, turn the lights off, shag the missus and when you're done ask her about her feelings.

Some people go better East-West. I don't get jetlag - but I do get tired from the journey. Different cause. A good night's sleep fixes it.

I'm not doing very well - just got up after another massive sleep with a yearning for alpen and a coffee. I've done lots of running to tire myself out but it's not happening - loving that now the weather is cooler now here. It's wonderful running along the beach as the sun comes up - a far cry from the runs I did last week on my Crystal Palace, East Dulwich, Peckham route dodging buses and staff bulls.

I agree. Worked great last trip back to Canada. I didn't think it was available in Oz though...that's good news if it is.

Wild erotic sex with a BE poster always helps.
