Default Jeez, UK house prices have gone up!

Our old house is back on the market

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetai...a_n=1&tr_t=buy

We sold it two years ago for £165,000 - now they're asking £220,000 and all they've done is paint the living room!

Seems strange to see it, never thought I'd see that kitchen and bathroom again....

I recognise that place, it's the murder house!

Seriously - washing machines in the kitchen, it just looks so wrong.

I know, I cant believe how small the place looks (the bathroom is smaller than our ensuite!) I'd feel claustraphobic living there now!!!!

Holy crap

I've just looked and this house http://www.rightmove.co.uk/viewdetai...a_n=5&tr_t=buy is just over the road from where we lived. It's a similar house to the one we had and is priced at £131,950. We sold ours just 18 months ago for £90k

errr.....just because your "neighbour puts their house on the market for a price higher than you sold yours for"...this does not mean that UK prices have gone up !!

They're ASKING 220,000 what they get is a different thing. Also makes me laugh when people boast - my house is worth blah blah blah and then they proceed to tell you they haven't been able to sell it despite it being on the market for bloody ages It's obviously not worth that then is it FFS, its quite simple really - its worth what people will pay for it

I think the key word in your post is "sold".

Just becuase it's on the market for £220,000 doesn't mean they will get that, not the way they are selling at the moment.

No, it means that they've gone down

FYI, the same house was sold 3 months before ours, for the same price as ours.

I wouldn't give them 50p for it

Well... your neighbours house could've sold for 50p or GBP5,000,000.

It still would tell me nothing about the state of the UK house market....

...must be true then....I suspect immigrants would've been to blame somehow. If the story was also corroborated by the Daily Mail, then its definitely true....sell up quick!

Not so sure, they have just opened or are about to open the new high speed rail link through from London to the Channel Tunnel, so they might get it what with all the Londoners moving out more. I know when we left there were loads of horrible matchbox houses going up in Ashford for them.

It has made me feel a bit sad seeing the garden shot, my beloved cat's ashes are under that tree

we sold ours 3 years ago for 133,500 pounds. next door is in much better condition than ours was and has been on the market for a while at 149,500. Whilst in oz our property has gone up considerbly and we could now go back to uk and buy next door and be mortgage free. i must admit i never thought that would be possible.
