Unfortunately that is the way businesses are tending to go - screw the workers entitilements as much as they can. I just hope they don't declare the business bankrupt, which would make it alot harder, if not impossible for any employees, as unsecured creditors, to get anything.

I said I can't eat qualifications and they said "No, we want you to be a welding inspector. So fairs fair. I told them I would work in the workshop at their rates (pretty crap) and we can speak after christmas.
The place is actually quite good to work in, with very little backstabbing which I find most appealing as it seems to be the norm here in my industry.
I even went to the xmas party last night so looking a little better than it was a couple of weeks ago. Thanks folks for all your kind words.
Much appreciated.We took the other mob to court for reneging on their promise to pay our entitlements if anybody got made redundant and its been postponed until Feb. So I need to wait for my pay-out but I'm in no hurry.

Update. I secured new employment but only after they told me I was over qualified. I said I can't eat qualifications and they said "No, we want you to be a welding inspector.
