Default Item has "disappeared" during our house move

About a month ago we moved from our unit to a rental. We hired a removal company because the wife is 8 months pregnant and it's a lot easier to get someone else to lift all your stuff.

The move went well on the day and as we unpacked boxes we've not found anything broken or damaged which was good.

However, I was looking in the garage for a framed photo of Sydney Harbour and couldn't find it. I know that this was in the storage room of our old place and that room is now empty. It's not in our new place as I've looked, turned the place upside down. The picture measures about 5ft by 2ft so it's not something you'd miss.

The wife has contacted the removal company and they haven't anything in their storage and the driver says there was nothing left in his truck on the day. So this picture has "magically" disappeared!

So where has it gone? And where does it leave me? The picture wasn't that expensive but it's more the sentimental value plus I don't like to think that someone has stolen something from me. Has this happened to anyone else and is there anything I can actually do?

It's an option, but if someone has stolen from me why should I let them away with it?

No, no other kids this will be our first.

Mine are 21, 14,13 and 11..... Hence my question

The removal company may well be asking why you didnt notice something so big missing quicker

There are only two answers.

You either have it but just haven't found it or its been stolen by the removalists.

Rule # 1 out and go to #2 and hold them accountable

Maybe they broke it and didn't want to admit to it. Suspect this happened to us during a local move in Sg as what went missing was worth virtually nothing (although part of a set).

Get over it. Sounds like you have other things to think about

A few items went missing- the most irritating was a beautiful box of hand made cards that I'd completed ready to send to the rellies and friends for birthdays and christmas. Never did find it, and had to scramble to replace the cards- had to buy some instead of make them.
