Default Iphone & GPS

I just picked up an Iphone 4 and was thinking about buying TomTom GPS on it which is 89$ and found an aussie version for 18.99$ - figured I'd try it out, 20bucks down the drain if its rubbish

It is *brilliant* - it really is 18.99$ for a fully working GPS system as good as tomtom/garmin/etc and its all in the phone - doesnt use data when driving all the maps are stored in the phone. It does speed alerting, school zones, etc. It is 1.5gig so download it at home ! or you'll eat all your data allowance.

I dont use GPS all the time, I kinda know where I live and where my kids school is and where the shops are... :-) but for those odd occasions when one is handy this is a superb tool if you already have an iphone3gs or 3g or 4 or whatever for 19$ its practically free. It doesnt have homer simpsons voice, but it does have a lady dude or a dude dude to chose from with Aussie accents which is hilarious.

Its called Metroview - buy it -its brilliant. I dont own shares, or know them, but its super cool and I know lots of discussion on here about GPS from time to time and figured I'd share this a little.

They should add a Julia Gillard voice.

"Next Left"
"Now turn left"
"Continue on for 3 km"
"Sorry lied. Do a U turn"

Or Kevin Rudd version

"I didn't say left"
"sorry I did but I meant the other left, not that left"
"actually I meant right which is the Mandarin version of left"

I've been using this for ages and it's great.

But I recommended it to Northernbird and she got the right hump because she couldn't get it to work!

I believe she has a left one as well so it's all worked out in the end.

Do I need another woman in the car telling me where to go? Seems a little redundant to me.

I didn't get the hump with you love, just the hump with the app. I still can't get the damn thing to work but hey ho, you live and learn.

"And going back is ill advised too, I never said it was a good idea"
"Let's just sit here and do nothing ..... but we'll still be in Perth by lunchtime under my rule."
