iPad
Not for me - yet, it's going to be too limited for the money. I think I'll wait for the next version.
I might still get the Kindle DX.

Re: iPad
can't see what all the fuss is about really. It's really nothing new, the tablet has been around for years in varying forms and has never taken off, so I don't see why this one would be any more successful

Re: iPad
It does not have enough to tempt me to part with money to buy it.

Re: iPad
having said that, in a way the iPod was nothing new either, merely a more modern rip off of the Walkman. If anyone can pull it off it is Apple, as more than anything they are really a marketing company first and foremost

Re: iPad
I want to read (lots of) books so the Kindle with its e-ink seems ideal - just hope the iTunes bookstore does not get exclusivity from publishing houses and therefore strangle the Kindle and others forcing us to use an LCD based reader....

Re: iPad
I never went for the iPhone, I got the Nokia E72 which I am happy with. Mr PP bought me the iPod Touch and I am thrilled with it, battery life isnt fabulous but it suits me to the ground and I prefer keeping my phone as a seperate gadget.
My eyesight is shit so I do struggle sometimes with the ipod touch, but I love the ease of which I can do stuff.
Now the iPad, I havent seen it except from photos and if someone were to say 'hey I will buy that for you' - I would be happy. But I dont think I would part with my money to buy one.
I reckon like many, wait a bit and see what happens.

Re: iPad
Thats what I thought, as I say - a pressie very nice thank you but not something I would invest in.
I would rather save my coins and get a decent computer so I can do my movie making and creative stuff. iPad seems a bit of a toy more than something super functional.
But god I love my iPod Keith, Im downloading some albums at the weekend and will perhaps rent a movie.

But for now I am happy, I use it for the net when my laptop crashes, I check the weather, my email, games etc. Excellent value.

I really only use mine for my drums, otherwise I don't really get the chance to listen to it
