Well I now have a real poser of a question. We are moving a lot of furniture in a 40ft container.
We have been quoted around £3000 in insurance fees and are unsure about bothering with it. Obviously if the ship go's down then we'll be gutted, but then again how often does that happen?
Has anyone else got a view??
Thanks

Sorry, no direct experience of this as yet (soon I hope!), but have seen http://www.lettonpercival.co.uk/ recommended on here quite a few times...they seem to offer the same insurance as the shipping companies, but cheaper as it's direct.
Try a search on Immigration forum, there are lots of threads about shipping, insurance, costs, experiences, etc...
Hope this helps!

Good point SteveO!
It's easy to forget that lots of people on here have already gone over to the 'other side'!
Eagle/Asher there was another thread on here last night about whether it was worth buying insurance or not, I think I'll point them to this thread to see the words of wisdom!

Wow, like a London Bus, nothing for a day (except the Pursers) and suddenly everyone on together.
Thanks for all the replies, I have e-mailed Letton Percival for a quote, I'll make sure I get new for old cover.

Yep! It shocked me as well
I took the pursers advice and had a quote in the post today, works out at about £350 for £40k cover, so guess what I am going to say to the other company:curse:
Thanks the Pursers, I am a
